This paper illustrates the results of the Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) implemented within the GENOVATE project at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (UNINA).

The main focuses are the establishment of a Gender Observatory at UNINA, and the creation of a national network of academics and experts in gender studies in science as accomplishments that will ensure project sustainability, and will further consolidate gender equality initiatives both at the local and at the national scale.

The four research areas of the Observatory (Gender Studies in Science and Technology, Gender and research evaluation, Gender Budgeting and statistics, Women’s career in university and research) will be introduced, and the connections between these research areas and the actions implemented through UNINA’s GEAP will be discussed.

Finally, some of the work in progress as well as some of our expectations and objectives for the near future will be explored.
